Sr Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

Ashton Woods is in search of a Sr Financial Analyst to work with the VP of Finance on supporting the division operations and providing financial information and analysis for the annual plan and quarterly forecasts, as well as monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly financial statements, account summaries and reports.
  • Support in the preparation of project proformas, annual plans and other financial projections.
  • Partner with Central Accounting and Division Function heads for month-end processes.
  • Safeguard assets in accordance with corporate policy and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manage the lot takedown process including ordering wires.
  • Reconcile and process monthly option payments for land bankers.
  • Assist with meetings for land budgets, indirect expenses, land allocation costs, and construction variance.
  • Assist with land development budgets and perform quarterly land transfer analysis.
  • Manage construction indirect budgets and perform quarterly analysis.
  • Weekly wire projections.
  • Liaise with real estate tax company on reconciliation and payment.
  • Control costs by analyzing budgets and actuals, establishing procedures, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform continuous improvement of financial processes and make recommendations to improve the business.
  • Provide analytics for decision support for special projects and initiative across the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree required.
  • At least 3 years accounting/finance experience.
  • Experience performing financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Experience in accounting and/or finance role with a homebuilder preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).
