Land Coordinator

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Ashton Woods sells new homes in Atlanta, Austin, Charleston, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, San Antonio and Tampa.

Position Overview:

The Orlando Division of Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes is in search of a Land Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Land Acquisition, Entitlement and Development departments.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Setup, maintain and close physical and electronic project files.
  • Review, code, process and track check requests, and electronic payments associated with land entitlements and development.
  • Consultant vendor setup and insurance compliance.
  • Ensure that project files for each community are updated and complete.
  • Generate and update land vendor and project trackers.
  • Circulate critical date calendar invites to team members.
  • Assist in the land development bidding and contracting process, including the assembly and distribution of bid packages. Prepare bid award and decline notices.
  • Administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and distributing documents.
  • Act as a liaison between the land department and other departments throughout the organization and process the distribution of materials needed by other departments.
  • Organize files, binders, etc.
  • Prepare letters, memorandums, transmittals, and emails.
  • Arrange for courier, express mail, printing, and reproduction services.
  • Assist HOA manager with organization and updating of HOA and CDD documents.
  • General support and administrative tasks for Land Team.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Over 2 years of experience in land, development and/or accounting administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of Business English and related correspondence formats; requires extensive follow- up on correspondence.
  • Strong Computer skills; proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Verbal/Written Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • High degree of professionalism; ability to communicate with confidence.
  • Self-directed; takes initiative, proactively addresses problems; can work with minimal oversight.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to flourish and navigate in a team environment.
  • Homebuilding experience is preferred.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Requires occasional lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
